The WOMM of Social Objects Hugh MacLeod | Cartoonist & Author, Gapingvoid LLC Streamed live from Chicago join Hugh MacLeod as he talks about the power of 'Social Objects' - a term he may not have coined but he has certainly led the way in the popularization of the term. MacLeod posits that Social Objects are the fuel that powers WOM. He will be talking about the foundation of Social Objects from Aristotle's time until today. MacLeod will also discuss, Malinowski's discovery of the ancient Kulu and draw parallels as to how marketers can develop WOM campaigns that mirror the non-use items traded by the Kulu purely for purposes of enhancing one's social status and prestige. Attendees will also learn about the Nine Principles of Creating Social Objects. MacLeod's talk will be interlaced with his amazing illustrations and anecdotes of how being a cartoonist makes him one of the worlds guru's of creating social buzz. |
